Short Pockets

My previous favorite thing that Short Pockets had done was his part in the band Take No Damage (who Country Death was also a part of), in particular their awesome dreamily-harsh-reality/post-post-depression/indie-pop album: Mushroom Clouds and Silver LiningsSolid Fucking Gold has similar production values, but is definitely instrumental hiphop. To me SFG sounds like if a good southern rap producer decided to make an instrumental hiphop album primarily using samples right after having to deal with a death to someone very close to them and had been spending time dealing with it by watching lots of movies, smoking and drinking, and listening to bass heavy music as their eyes glaze over but their brain stays busy and time goes on.
Or, how's this, it kind of sounds similar to/like a combination of Flying Lotus, Gaslamp Killer, Blockhead, and Michael '5000' Watts.
